Man Accused of Robbing Two People in 14th St. Subway Station in Chelsea: NYPD

NYPD are trying to identify the man, who they threatened people with a metal club and a knife.

CHELSEA, NY — Police are trying to identify a man accused of robbing one person, and attempting to rob another, in the 14th St. 1 subway station.

The first incident took place at 4:15 a.m. Nov. 27. The unknown man approached a 33-year-old female on a stairway at the 1 subway station, displayed a metal club and demanded her bag, police said. The victim complied and gave the suspect her bag, which had $200, a metrocard and other bank and ID cards, police said. The victim wasn't injured, and the suspect fled on foot.

The same suspect attempted to rob a man in the 14th St. 1 subway station at 5:05 a.m. Dec. 5, police said. The suspect displayed a knife and demanded the 68-year-old victim give him money. The victim didn't give the man money, boarded the train and fled to safety, police said.

Surveillance photos of the suspect are above. The left photo shows the suspect using the metrocard that belonged to the 33-year-old woman at the Utica Avenue 3/4 train station in Brooklyn on Nov. 28, police said. The right photo shows the suspect fleeing the subway system after he took the female victim's belongings.
