<p><br>Daddy Rabbit is a uniquely immersive live music event at New York City's coolest speakeasy. Pulling together classically trained pianists, bassists and horn players with jazz singers, MCs and beatboxers, this is an ever-changing carousel of world-class sound. The show mixes original compositions with unique interpretations of Soul, Jazz, Rock, Funk and RnB classics. </p>
<p>An intimate setting in the round, it's a show where you can literally stand with the band. <br></p>
<p>On Friday May 29 we pay tribute to the legendary talents of Frank Sinatra with unique interpretations of some of his greatest hits. The spirit of the Chairman of the Board finds a new home within the velvet shadows of Adélaïde’s Salon. As the lights dim, Daddy Rabbit conjures the timeless cool of Old Blue Eyes, turning the subterranean speakeasy into a world of "Fly Me to the Moon" and midnight martinis.</p>

<p><b>Reverence and Resistance </b>is a choral concert that speaks to humanitarian questions of our time, featuring the treble-voice world premiere of <i>Rumor Mill</i>, an a cappella masterpiece about loss and longing in the Palestinian diaspora. Acclaimed poet Naomi Shihab Nye will read, and Accord Composer-in-Residence Shireen Abu-Khader will offer commentary. </p>
<p>The program puts music of protest side-by-side with music of praise: including a contemporary mass by Andre Caplet, a 13<sup>th</sup>-century chant reimagined by David Douglas, and a joyfully transporting piece by composer Cedrick Howoseb, in the Otjiherero language by way of Namibia, accompanied by djembe<i>. </i>Other works explore hope amidst oppression and celebrate the power of the individual to create change. Tutu School exists to make space in the lives of children, 6 months to 8 years old, for creativity and joy.<br /><br />We do one thing – provide very young students with a magical introduction to ballet – and we focus all of our energy on doing that one thing in the highest quality manner possible. This means that every aspect of your child’s experience at Tutu School- from the sparkling spaces to the smiling faces – has been specifically tailored to the needs of even the tiniest dancers.<br /><br />Our carefully crafted curriculum was designed by dance professionals and developmental specialists to ensure that precisely the right amount of ballet technique is being introduced to students at exactly the right time, and not any earlier than their little bodies and young imaginations are ready for it.<br /><br />Importantly, our Tutu teachers receive thoughtful training in our curriculum and in the best ways to support young dancers, whatever their age, developmental stage, or level of experience. We believe in introducing students to ballet in a way that makes sense for their bodies and their development, but that also nurtures their creativity and love of music and movement.<br /><br />We want to cultivate an appreciation of the arts and to provide students with a solid technical foundation to study ballet more seriously later on (if they choose), but more importantly, to give them the kind of formative early enrichment experience that will serve them well in whatever dreams they follow later on.
