1. 167M Chelsea Beacon Redevelopment Breaks Ground: What To Know (patch.com) — Chelsea residents are seeing long-vacant Bayview Correctional Facility at 550 West 20th Street reborn as Chelsea Beacon, a $167 million mixed-use project. The redevelopment will bring 131 permanently affordable apartments, a 15-unit transitional residence for people with mental health needs, and new community space, while preserving the site's historic Art Deco character and adding modern, all-electric, resilient systems. 
2. Chelsea Building Housing Two Art Galleries Will Go to Auction, But the Dealers Plan to Stay Put (artnews.com) — A prominent Chelsea gallery building at 525 West 22nd Street is headed to auction after foreclosure, but the two galleries inside say they expect to remain. Longtime tenants Miles McEnery and Yancey Richardson both report strong leases and no plans to move, reassuring local art-goers that shows and programming in the heart of the gallery district should continue uninterrupted.
3. Miami-raised artist Kandy G. Lopez turns yarn into striking large-scale portraits (nbcmiami.com) — A Miami-raised artist is currently showing a solo exhibition at ACA Galleries in Chelsea highlighting large-scale portraits made entirely from yarn. Her work centers Afro-Latina identity and community representation, and New Yorkers can also catch her pieces at major city art fairs and museums, while South Florida audiences have a Fort Lauderdale show through November.
4. Inside Hypebeast Afterhours with Sandy Liang During NYFW (sneakerscartel.com) — Sandy Liang's latest New York Fashion Week show at Petzel Gallery in Chelsea flowed into an intimate rooftop afterparty at Ludlow House on the Lower East Side. Guests enjoyed House of Suntory cocktails, DJ sets, and a relaxed setting that extended the collection's soft, sporty mood, drawing fashion insiders from across the city into Liang's close creative circle.
