Standard Hotel Offers Free Rooms and Food for Neighbors Affected by Chelsea Explosion

Rooms at the hotel are currently full but the hotel said they are doing their best to accommodate everyone.

CHELSEA, NY — In the wake of the explosion in Chelsea that left 29 people injured, The Standard hotel in the Meatpacking district was offering a free dinner and board to neighbors affected by the explosion.

The offer is valid for anyone who lives on 23rd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues and can provide a proof of address.

As of around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, the hotel said their rooms were full, as was their restaurant. The hotel says they are doing what they can to accommodate guests, including contacting other hotels in the neighborhood.
