Hochul signed a broader statewide 50-foot buffer law. The move means local rules won’t change beyond the new state standard, though lawmakers debated whether any extra county law was needed and how it might affect free-speech rights. 
• Fayetteville-Manlius boys lacrosse rolls past Auburn for Class B championship (photos) (syracuse.com) — Fayetteville-Manlius boys lacrosse just earned a Class B sectional title and will head to Cicero-North Syracuse on Saturday to face Niskayuna in the state regional round. Local fans can see both F-M programs surging, as the girls also claimed a Class B crown earlier Tuesday, capping a big night for area lacrosse.
