Commack Man Killed in Fort Salonga Crash
The 26-year-old and another man were killed in crash into a tree Tuesday morning.

FORT SALONGA, NY- A 26-year-old Commack man was among two people killed in a single-car crash in Fort Salonga Tuesday morning, police said.
According to authorities, Leland Acampora, 26, of Hauppague, was driving a Hyundai Sonata westbound on Fort Salonga Road, near Makamah Road, when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree at 4:30 a.m.

Acampora and the back seat passenger, identified as 26-year-old Commack resident Woody Zalman, were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The front seat passenger, identified as East Northport resident Paul Weingart, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was listed in serious condition.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
