Northport Ford Closes Shop
The rough economy has claimed another Commack business, as Northport Fordsuddenly closed down some time late last week.
The lot is mostly cleared and the lights are out at the dealership, which sold new and used cars and also operated as a service center.

Judiaca Shop Closes After More Than 30 Years
A Commack Judaica shop has been forced to close its doors after more than 30 years as the local gathering place for Jews.
Chai & Mazel, owned and operated by Chabadof Mid-Suffolk in Commack, closed its doors in the Northgate Shopping Center off Jericho Turnpike on Sunday.
Sertinos Cafe Closing Likely
Sertinos Cafe owner Craig Lowenthall posted signs in the eatery Saturday and announced on Facebook Sunday morning that it would be closing Oct. 28 at 5 p.m. for good.
Talbot's Will Close Commack Location
The Talbot's Outlet in Commack will close soon, one of 25 stores nationwide described by the clothing retailer as underperforming.
Spirit Store Out of Service
Phones are no longer ringing in the King Kullen Shopping Center, as the Sprint Store has suddenly closed.
The cell phone retailer, which was located on Veterans Memorial Highway, shut its doors sometime in late February.
Mandee to Close Commack Location
Mandee in Commack will close some time this month, according to signs posted throughout the store.
The clothing retailer, located in the Pathmark Shopping Center, is currently offering all merchandise at a deep discount—though all sales are final.
Cafe Havana Closed For the Time Being
Cafe Havana, Smithtown's slice of Cuban cuisine, is temporarily closed as management works on renovating the restaurant on Jericho Turnpike. This business remains closed of Dec. 26.
