Another Snowstorm Expected to Hit Commack on Thursday

Two potential snowstorms could hit the area over the next five days.

Even if you love snow, you are probably getting sick of it at this point.

Alas, Mother Nature does as she pleases as evidenced by two more potential snowstorms targeting Long Island.

The first snow threat comes on Thursday and since it’s only two days away, forecasters are pretty certain the threat will become a reality. At the moment, the National Weather Service is projecting 2-6 inches of snow for Long Island through Thursday night. Nassau is expected to get 2-3 inches, most of Suffolk 3-4 inches and the East End is in line for 4-6 inches of snow.

The second potential storm comes this weekend, with the NWS currently calling for a chance of snow on both Saturday and Sunday.

“Some current model projections show potential for up to around 6-7 inches of snow with this system, but we could see quite a bit of fluctuation between model runs until we get closer to this timeframe,” the NWS said of the weekend forecast.
