New Book Release

Bonnie Soman is pleased to announce the release of “Six Saturdays and a Sunday,” a book of essays about living in a retirement community. It addresses such issues as: how to leave a home that you love and have lived in for decades; the difficulties of downsizing; what is life like in a retirement community; how to find purpose in retirement; and much more. 

This book is especially apropos to the over 300,000 “baby boomers” living on Long Island who are recently (or about to be) retired and whose children have grown and moved out, leaving them with a big, empty house to maintain.

Bonnie Soman, a member of the baby boom generation, retired from her career as a university administrator more than a decade ago. She moved to a CCRC, a type of retirement community, four years ago and wrote this book to share her story of finding happiness, joy, and fulfillment in her community.
