Commack Pianist Finalist in Got Talent? Long Island

Summer Penzi to compete for title at Dix Hills Performing Arts Center on March 30.

A young aspiring Commack pianist and singer is hoping to bring home the title of Long Island's Most Talent next weekend. 

Summer Penzi has been selected as a finalist in Got Talent? Long Island out of more than 100 individuals and groups who auditioned.  She will compete for the title on stage March 30 at the Dix Hills Performing Arts Center at Five Towns College. 

Summer began playing the Suzuki piano at age 3 at Queens College and since learned the motto of "practice makes perfect." By the time she was 6-years-old, Summer performed her first full length Sonata by reading from the score.She performed her first mini-concert at Lincoln Center in the Play Me, I'm Yours Arts Exhibit in 2010. Summer also won first place in the Forte International Music Competition in 2010 and 2010 at Carnegie Hall.

When not playing the piano, Summer also enjoys gymnastics, tennis and playing the violin. 

The Got Talent? Long Island competition finals will start at 7:30 p.m. on March 30. Tickets cost $30 - $45.

The winner will receive a $1,000 cash reward, kick off the opening of the 47th annual Huntington Summer Arts Festival, a $2,000 scholarship to Five Towns College and much more.
