Crime Report: Robberies and DWIs

A blotter of the latest arrests in Commack.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Franco T B Gonzalez, 47, of Commack, was arrested March 23 in Commack and charged with DWI. Gonzalez was observed at 2:17 a.m. driving a 1997 Toyota and speeding through the intersection of Beachwood Road and Route 25.

David Tweedy, 45, of Commack, was arrested March 24 in Islip Terrace and charged with criminal contempt, DWI and possession of marijuana. Tweedy was driving a 2002 Chrysler west on Oceanside Avenue at 6:20 p.m. when he failed to stop at a stop sign and failed to signal when making a right turn.

Antonio Gutierrez, 38, of Bay Shore, was arrested March 25 in Commack and charged with petit larceny. Gutierrez stole miscellaneous items from the located at 85 Crooked Hill Road.

Gustavo Gomez, 23, of Bay Shore, was arrested March 25 in Commack and charged with petit larceny. Gomez stole an FM transmitter from the located at 85 Crooked Hill Road.

Michael Castaldo, 30, of Nesconset, was arrested March 27 in Commack and charged with a criminal misdemeanor and intent to damage property. At 12:51 a.m., Castaldo threw an object at and caused damage to a 2007 Hyundai. He then resisted arrest.

A 16-year-old Commack resident was arrested March 27 in Huntington and charged with DWI. The teen was driving west on Kevin Road at 1:05 a.m. when he lost control and swerved onto Nagle Lane, striking a street sign and crashing into a utility pole.

Lauren Hinton, 19, of Commack, was arrested March 28 in Commack and charged with petit larceny. At 7:45p.m. on March 14, Hinton used the BP gas station located at 231 Walt Whitman Road and did not pay.

Renee Kain, 24, of Commack, was arrested March 28 in Bay Shore and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Robert Beckett, 46, of Bay Shore, in Commack and charged with aggravated DWI and traffic violations. Beckett flipped his SUV on the Sunken Meadow State Parkway.
