Drunk Woman Crashed SUV With 3 Kids Inside in Brentwood: Police
The 44-year-old woman faces a felony DWI charge after crash Monday morning, police say.

BRENTWOOD, NY- A West Babylon woman was drunk when she crashed her SUV with three children inside in Brentwood Monday morning, Suffolk Police said.
According to police, Barbara Kalinowski, 44, was driving her 2014 Chevy Equinox north on Washington Avenue when she struck the rear of a 2014 Honda sedan at Express Drive South at 11:55 a.m.
Kalinowski’s 8-year-old and 10-year-old daughters, and her daughter’s 10-year-old friend were passengers in the SUV. No injuries were reported in the crash.

Kalinowski was arrested by Third Precinct patrol officers and charged with aggravated DWI with a child 15 years old or younger–a felony under Leandra’s Law, DWI and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Kalinowski’s daughters were released to the custody of their father and the daughter’s friend was released to the custody of her parents, police said. Suffolk County Child Protective Services was notified of the incident.

Kalinowski will be held at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday.
