ICYMI: Trio In Stolen Car Arrested After Police Chase, Crash

COMMACK, NY – Three people were arrested after fleeing from a stolen car that crashed following a police chase that began on the Northern State Parkway Saturday afternoon, State Police said.

According to police, a trooper observed a 2018 Dodge Durango on the eastbound Northern State Parkway west of Veterans Memorial Highway operating at a high rate of speed around 12:50 p.m.

The trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the Durango's driver failed to comply and began to flee, police said.

The trooper pursued the Durango until it collided with a 2016 Nissan Sentra at the intersection of Vets Highway and Harned Road, police said.

The driver and three passengers exited the Durango and fled the scene on foot, police said.
