Jersey Girls Rock Out on the Island
The Party Dolls, originally from New Jersey, provided classic tunes of the 60s, 70s, and 80s at Sunday night's free concert at Hoyt Farm, a unique Long Island appearance.
Hoyt Farm continued its summer concert series with a performance by The Party Dolls on Sunday night. The Dolls played hits like "Love Shack" and "In the Jungle" as fans and locals danced in front of the stage. The vocal trio also gave out sweets and large blow-up lollipops to dancing children as they sang "I Want Candy."
Tina Finnin brought her four kids for ice cream and family friendly tunes.
"We usually come a couple of times a season," she said. "It's a great place for the kids to enjoy some ice cream while we enjoy the show. They love the music too, of course."

Sunday's show held a special appeal for an older audience, as the band's roots lie in the 60s and 70s. Even those who weren't up for a dance found themselves clapping enthusiastically as the band busted out the tunes of Aretha Franklin, Van Morrison and even the Jackson Five.
The Dolls have played with greats like the Beach Boys and Chuck Berry, and have performed for Rudolph Giuliani, Ted Kennedy, and David Caruso, though no celebrity presence graced Hoyt Farm last night.

Accompanied by a bassist, a guitarist, a keyboardist, and a drummer, these Jersey Girls rocked the stage throughout the evening.
Jim Pitman and his wife Leeann came all the way from Freeport just to see Sunday's performance. "I've seen these girls for years," he said.
Though the band's website lists that they've played in 18 states and 2 foreign countries, Pitman has never seen them out on Long Island.
"I've seen them in Long Beach, and I think Staten Island," he said, "but never this far east."
The next concert at Hoyt Farm is Sunday August 8, and features Brother Joscephus.
