Egosi survived the Nazi's  Beaune-la-Rolande conconcentration camp outside of Parish in World War II, being released when his father who was a chemical engineer developed a process to slow the freezing of plane fuel for the Italian government.

Egosi would eventually make his way to settle on Long Island to work for a Manhattan-based architecture firm. Over the years, he helped to build and design many synogogues across Long Island, including Temple Beth David in Commack.
