LA Fitness Coming to Commack
The gym franchise to take over the former Borders in the King Kullen Plaza, preview center open and selling memberships.
Commack residents will soon have another option of where to work out over the upcoming winter months.
LA Fitness has opened a preview center for its new Commack location, taking over the former Borders in the King Kullen Plaza off Veterans Memorial Highway. Renovations have been underway for months, leaving local residents guessing as to what was coming.

The new LA Fitnesss in Commack will be approximately 25,000 square feet, according to manager John Bracken. It will offer state-of-the-art equipment, free weights, group fitness classes including kickbox cardio and yoga. Other amenities will include a sauna and kid's klub (babysitting), according to Bracken.
LA Fitness has opened a preview center within the shopping center at 62 Veterans Memorial Highway, next door to Moe's. Commack residents will be able to see floor plans for the fitness center and purchase memberships if desired.

Bracken says he expects the Commack location to be opening in mid-November.
LA Fitness opened its Smithtown Main Street location on Oct. 4 in the Branch Shopping Plaza.
