Local Driver Injured in Accident in Pennsylvania

Commack driver involved in a one-car accident, Deer Park woman killed, two other passengers in critical condition.

Robert Felberbaum, 20, of Commack, was involved in a one-car accident on Tuesday in Caernarvon Township, south of Reading, Pa., at approximately 4:05 p.m., the Pennsylvania State Police Department said. 

Kristin M. Green, 20, of Deer Park, died of injuries sustained during the accident and the two other passengers – Tracey Cowit, 21, of Syosset, and Richard DiLorenzo, 21, of Levittown – are currently in critical condition at Reading Hospital. 

Felberbaum was driving a 2010 Volkswagon GTI with the three passengers when he allegedly fell asleep at the wheel. All had their seat belts on at the time of the crash and were alive when support arrived at the scene, explained Corporal Dan Moy, of the Pennsylvania State Police Department.

The Commack resident was driving westbound on the Pennsylvania Turnpike when the car rolled off the embankment and hit a tree. He is currently in critical condition.

Felberbaum and DiLorenzo have been upgraded to fair condition. Cowit has been upgraded to good condition, William Rudolph of the hospital's communications department said.
