Moriches Bay Project raises awareness and funds “To Save The Bay”: The Moriches Bay Project held their 2nd annual Oyster Fling in Westhampton Beach, where more than 300 guests enjoyed New Orleans themed fare prepared by Buoy One of Westhampton, Jazz music by Gotham Easy. They also participated a unique, hands-on experience by “flinging” oysters into the Bay that will directly help clean the water and further the Project’s mission. Special guests included Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine (blue blazer and aqua polo shirt) and Congressional Candidate Anne Throne-Holst who all were very excited to get their gloves on and participate in the fling.
Proceeds from the Oyster Fling will support Moriches Bay Project and allow the Project to continue to improve water quality in Long Island’s bays through oyster farming and eelgrass planting.
