Nurse Revives 6-Year-Old Found Unresponsive at Bottom of Long Island Pool

A quick-acting teen and a nurse saved the boy's life this evening, police say.

A 6-year-old boy was found unresponsive at the bottom of a pool during a party at a Deer Park home Saturday evening, but a quick-acting teen and a nurse saved his life.

The boy was found in a pool at a home on Susan Court at about 6:15 p.m, Suffolk Police said. A 17-year old party guest pulled him out and then a nurse who was also in attendance performed CPR and resuscitated him.

Upon police arrival, the boy was conscious and breathing on his own. Deer Park Rescue transported the boy to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he is in stable condition.
