Oct. 5: Town Meetings, Sports Games and Civic Meetings

Have a question for the Town of Huntington or Smithtown? Luckily for you, both Towns have their meetings this evening. If you're looking for a hidden treasure, or a new hobby, you might also like to go out to the Thrift Shop and the Rotary Club meeting. There's also some sports games on track if you're into Cougar sports. 

The Five Things to Do on Oct. 5: 

1. Town of Smithtown Board Meeting: The meeting will take place at Town Hall in Smithtown beginning at 2 p.m. and is open to all. 

2. Town of Huntington Board Meeting: The meeting will take place at Town Hall in Huntington on Main Street beginning at 6 p.m. and is open to all. 

3. Commack United Methodist Thrift Shop: Find a hidden treasure, or vintage favorite at the Thrift Shop attached to the Church on Townline Road, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

4. Rotary Club: The Commack/Kings Park Rotary Club meets every Tuesday at the Bonwit Inn at 12:15 p.m. 

5. Cougars Sports: Commack High School Varsity sports has many avenues for you to explore today. There are five home games and three away games: 

• Girls and Boys Cross Country Track at Sunken Meadow State Park vs. Lindenhurst at 4:15 p.m.
• Girls Tennis at Hauppauge at 4:15 p.m. 
• Boys Soccer at Commack vs. Ward Melville at 4:15 p.m. 
• Girls Volleyball at Commack vs. Patchogue-Medford at 4 p.m. 
• Girls Gymnastics at Commack vs. Bay Shore at 4:15 p.m. 
• Boys Golf at Huntington Crescent vs. Huntington at 3:30 p.m. 
• Boys Volleyball at Sachem East 6:45 p.m.
