Safe Summer Teen Nights Return to Hoyt Farm

Local teens are invited to get together with friends and hang out at the Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve this Tuesday from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. 

The Smithtown Youth Bureau will continue its third annual Summer Teen Nights at Hoyt Farm in Commack this Tuesday, from 6 pm. - 9 p.m. with a range of activites from volleyball to karaoke. 

Patsy Hirschhorn, executive director of the Smithtown Youth Bureau, said the third annual Summer Teen NIghts kicked off on June 26 with the Battle of the Bands competition, which attracted teens and their families to hear live musical performances. 

This Tuesday, the Smithtown Youth Bureau will collaborate with Smithtown Parks Department, Recreation Department and Department of Public Safety to offer an array of activites from baseball, volleyball, horseshoes, bocce, karaoke, arts and crafts, games and competitions. 

The free program night is designed for students entering middle school to high school this fall in the Commack, Hauppauge, Kings Park and Smithtown school districts. 

The teen nights are designed to create a drug-free, alcohol-free environment for teens to gather. Staff from various town departments and community groups will be on hand to supervise the activities.
