Shelter Animal of the Week
Open your heart to two older Rottweiler mixes, Jack and Samantha, who need comfort and care in their golden years.
If you have a big heart and love dogs, the League for Animal Protection of Huntington could use your help as either a new owner or foster parent for a pair of senior dogs, Jack and Samantha.
Jack and Samantha are practically brother and sister, as they have been raised together since they were puppies. Their owner was evicted from their home, and was heartbroken when they were forced to give the two up.
Samantha is a 10-year-old Rottweiler mix who has a calm and sweet nature. She would love an owner who would be loving and patient, and could provide a home without too many stairs.

Jack is an 8-year-old Rottweiler mix who is slightly impaired by arthritis, and is reserved and less tolerant of handling than his sister because of the lumps and bumps on his body. He would do best in a home without small children.
All they need is a kind owner or foster parent to care for them, and all of their medical expenses will be covered by LAP. Ideally, the same person would adopt or temporarily care for both of them, but if they needed to be separated, shelter staff at LAP would accept that as well, as both dogs have already been through the worst by losing their owner and home.
