Langworthy Moving Congressional Office From Corning to Elmira in Major Southern Tier Shift • The KEUKA SUN (keukasun.com) — Corning residents who rely on congressional help for issues like veterans benefits or Social Security will soon need to visit a new district office in downtown Elmira instead of Corning. Congressman Nick Langworthy’s team says the move, expected in coming weeks, is meant to improve access across the wider Southern Tier and Finger Lakes district while keeping current cases supported during the transition.
   

2. Elmira Pioneers 2026 Season Preview (weny.com) — Corning-area baseball fans will see two SUNY Corning players suit up for the Elmira Pioneers this summer, bringing a strong local connection to Dunn Field. The team mixes talent from 11 states, with eight players from the Twin Tiers, and aims to rebound into the PGCBL playoffs. Opening night features a 6:30 PM home game against Batavia followed by fireworks.
   

3. Corning Family Fights for Mental Health Bill in Honor of Son Lost to Suicide (weny.com) — A Corning family is urgently pushing state lawmakers to pass a mental health bill inspired by their son Matthew, who died by suicide after struggling to access adequate care. The proposal would investigate where New York’s system fails people before a mental health-related death, with local legislators Tom O’Mara and Phil Palmesano backing the effort as the June 5 deadline looms.
   

4. 'Paddle the 607' invites outdoor enthusiasts to the Southern Tier (wydc-tv.com) — A new 190-mile paddling trail will soon let kayakers and canoeists travel the Chemung and Susquehanna Rivers all the way from Corning to Cooperstown, putting Corning at one end of a major regional route. Launching with a ribbon-cutting in Erwin, the project includes a PaddleThe607.com website with maps, safety tips, and pre-planned itineraries to help residents and visitors explore local waterways.
