• Westchester BOL Approves New Tax Relief for Surviving Spouses, Service Members and Disabled Veterans (yonkerstimes.com) — Cortlandt homeowners who are surviving spouses of fallen first responders, active-duty service members in combat zones, or veterans with serious service-related disabilities may soon qualify for new Westchester County property tax exemptions. Approved unanimously by the Board of Legislators, including Cortlandt’s Colin Smith, these measures will apply to assessment rolls with taxable status dates on or after October 1, 2026.
