• Deer Park Senior Named National Merit Semifinalist; 3 Others Honored (patch.com) — Deer Park families can celebrate four high school seniors earning top honors in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program, including semifinalist Joseph Reina. Classmates Vincent Cacciola, Kimberly Cho, and Nobin Nath were named Commended Students for their standout PSAT performance, placing them among the highest-scoring students nationwide and spotlighting Deer Park's strong academic reputation.
   

• Serial Kings Park Bank Robber With 'No Funny Business' Demand Note Headed Back To Prison: DA (newsbreak.com) — Residents should know that a repeat bank robber who targeted a Flagstar Bank branch in Deer Park, as well as one in West Babylon, has been sentenced to five-and-a-half to eleven years in prison. Prosecutors say he stole thousands of dollars in December 2025 before being arrested the same day in Copiague, and he also pleaded guilty to a drug possession charge.
