Bay Shore Man Charged in Fatal Hit-and-Run
The 24-year-old was arrested on Tuesday. A pedestrian was struck and killed in Bay Shore on Saturday.

A Bay Shore man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with leaving the scene of a crash that left a pedestrian dead, police said.
Saquan Johnson, 24, is charged with leaving the scene of an incident involving a fatality, a felony.
According to police, Johnson was driving a car east on Redington Street, east of Brook Avenue, in Bay Shore at about 3:10 a.m. Saturday when his vehicle struck 30-year-old Elvin Ponce, of Brentwood.

Ponce was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Johnson lives on Union Boulevard in Bay Shore, about a half mile away from where the crash occurred. He will be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
