Belmont Students Soak Up Water Lesson
Kathryn Fedun of the SCWA gives North Babylon students a presentation about the water cycle.

Fourth-graders at Belmont Elementary School in the North Babylon recently received a visit from the Suffolk County Water Authority and learned about the journey of water from the ground to the faucet.
Using a five-gallon aquarium, Kathryn Fedun of the SCWA gave the students a presentation about the water cycle. She also demonstrated how aquifers naturally filter water using different layers of soil under the ground and taught students about the importance of protecting drinking water on Long Island.
