Boy Scout Troop 399 of North Babylon attends the 55th Annual West Point Invitational Camporee

Boy Scout Troop 399 of North Babylon participated in the 55th Annual West Point Camporee. This event was attended by over 6,500 Boy and Girl Scouts and Venturing Crews and is run solely by the West Point cadets.

Troop 399 camped as a Lightfighter unit with all items brought to the camporee in backpacks and hiked in over 5 miles to their designated campsite. The Scouts competed in various events that tested their physical, mental, leadership and team building skills.

The troop was sponsored by Jordan Bailey , a West Point cadet and recent graduate of North Babylon High school. A great time was had by all and the troop is looking forward to the privilege of being accepted to next year’s camporee.

Boy Scout Troop 399 meetings are held each Thursday evening that schools are open at 7:30pm in the Marion G. Vedder Elementary School cafeteria. For more information you may visit Troop 399’s website at http://northbabylon399.mytroop.us . Troop 399 is a Boy Scout Troop based in North Babylon, NY and a member of the Sagtikos District of BSA’s Suffolk County Council. It is sponsored by the North Babylon Lions Club. Originally chartered in 1975, Troop 399 has been serving the community, turning boys into leaders and giving families the opportunity to participate in Scouting for 40 years.
