BREAKING: Husband, Wife Hospitalized After North Babylon Crash

The husband's injuries are considered life-threatening, police say.

An elderly man was critically injured and his wife was also hurt in a single-car crash in North Babylon Thursday morning.

According to police, the man was driving a vehicle on Deer Park Avenue near Commack Road when the car struck a telephone pole just before 9 a.m.

The man suffered life-threatening injuries and his wife suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said. They were both transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip. Police have not yet released their identities.
