The Parents as Reading Partners (PARP) program at Parliament Place Elementary School in the North Babylon School District culminated with the Principal's Challenge, which involved Principal Drew Olson reading a book to each classroom. Olson read "Lion Dancer: Ernie Wan's Chinese New Year" by Kate Waters and Madeline Slovenz-Low as a tribute to the school's observance of the holiday. As he visited each classroom, Olson reinforced the importance of participating in the PARP program, which encourages parents and students to read for at least 20 minutes everyday after school.
