Press release from Deer Park School District:
January 7, 2021
More than 1,500 Chromebooks were delivered to the Deer Park School District’s instructional technology department in November. The devices were ordered in May, and the extreme worldwide demand for Chromebooks and COVID-related supply chain slowdowns caused extended delays for districts in receiving supplies.

Led by Jay Murphy, the district administrator for instructional technology, the Chromebook distribution was a successful team effort. Everyone from the IT department put in long hours to set up and provision each device, while volunteer teachers and staff braved the rain and cold for a drive-through Chromebook distribution that was safe for students and their families. As a result of this handout, Deer Park students in grades 3-12 have a 1:1 Chromebook device for use both at home and in their classrooms.
