Deer Park Primary Schools Commemorate Sept. 11
Students wear red, white and blue to commemorate the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Students and staff at Deer Park’s John Quincy Adams and May Moore primary schools participated in planting flags and other ceremonial events on Sept. 11, known as Patriot Day.
The children, ranging from kindergarten through second grade, wore red, white and blue to commemorate the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
“We wanted to observe the anniversary of Sept. 11 with respect and reverence,” said JQA Principal Christine Criscione. “In addition to a moment of silence and age-appropriate lessons in the classroom, our PFC donated American flags so that each student could plant a flag on the school grounds to show patriotism.”
