On the Eve of Women's Suffrage Month-"NO FEAR ACT for Women"

Maryann Maltese, Activist-Candidate for NYS Assembly 12th AD (Suffolk County) on the eve of Women's Suffrage Movement encourages swift Legislative Bill Signings in Albany by the Governor-today the Governor has a few bills on his desk waiting for Signatures that will enhance the lives of Women in NYS. Let's reach out to his offices today to remind his staff-It's Women's Equality Month-Our Right to Vote was established 100 years ago-granting Women the ability to also run for Elective Offices.

The Photo above reminds us that many Women who were involved in Women's Right to Vote, began their journey on houses of other women-this is how I have begun our journey in the 12th AD-operating my Campaign for NYS Assembly-12th AD. A woman has never Held the office for NYS Assembly-12th AD-and it is time for a Woman too. Women understand the importance of Legislative Bills which need to remain available to women-and how important Equality of Wages, Legislative Bills to Provide retroactive Earnings where Women-especially those of us in the Public Sector to receive Due Compensation for Work Performances. I will complete this Journey for Women as the Next NYS Assembly-Member. I have a track record of successful Law Passages-I don't cave in-Notable Acts that Helped Women-Universal Pre-K, Childcare Vouchers before and after School, 1995 Lawsuit Against Governor Pataki-to Force him to remove State Employees from his declaration to not Pay State Employees while Members could not reach a NYS Budget, NYS Capital Projects supporting the ESTABLISHMENT of Center of the Women of New York, said Maryann Maltese.

As a female Political Scientist, with 30 years of Industry Experiences-I have met so many wonderful women along the way; pushing forward our agenda and every Session, I was successful in implementing sound Legislative Acts which have positively impacted NYS Lives, including Black Lives Matter. I have worked with Members of Unions OMCE, PEF, Teachers, PBA and we have been successful in communities-it takes a person with a proven track record of compassion and ability to navigate through the troubled waters presently before us-I'm prepared to reenter Public Service-not as the Member's Mentor (18 years)-but as the Elected, said Maryann.

It's 30 years out of 100 years-that 33.3% of the time that I have held the torch and our reign isn't complete, said Maltese. Until Women within the NYS Public Service-the Legislative Branches earn the same dollar amount for Work Performances held and/or to commence-then Equality and our Civil Rights are not Equal. I say this to bring Clear understanding of what is essential for women who endlessly, tirelessly provide exceptional employment services to NYS and the Legislators we work for and We are the Women to look up too as the role models of how Women's Equality Impacts us daily and what still needs to be accomplished-said Maltese

The original No fear Act was originally enacted by the Federal Government to encourage Federal Public Officers to come forward to report when there are issues in the work place. NYS has taken sections of the Federal No-Fears Act and implemented it in different genres. It's time for NO-Fear Act to apply to Women NYS Public Officers-for there to be aspects incorporated with employment contacts. By US and NYS Constitutional Rules while in service-our Oath is to the Public before ourselves-Noble and worthy service-and it's time to Enact the "No Fear ACT-for Women of NYS Public Sector"-so that we can speak about justice needed for us, said Maltese. I will introduce the bill language necessary to get this done. I have a proven track record of NYS Legislative Accomplishments with NYS from 1994-2013 and my work is not over, said Maltese

Maryann Maltese is also a licensed RE Sales Associate, Certified Substitute Teacher @ Brentwood UFSD and a licensed Hair Stylist who attended BOCES Western Suffolk. Maryann holds her BA in Political Sciences from Queens College. Maryann represents who lives in the District.

It's been 7 NYS Legislative Sessions, where NYS Public Employees have not received wage increases or Cost of Living Allowances or retroactive pay-benefits for job performances completed-that is unconscionable employment practice-and this practice Needs to be tweaked to ensure that NYS Public Officers can make livable wages. I will introduce the Bill that will streamline the Contract Clauses of NYS Public Employees so that a guaranteed annual percentage is within every Employment Contract-many pieces of former Legislative Bills were terrible examples of Employment contracts-holding out on providing staffs with annual needed increases by requiring no wage increase for the first 2 years of 5 years of contractual employment services-this is unacceptable-we're not dealing with Employees who make a Million dollars annually-we're dealing with Working Families. NYS State Employees have some of the toughest Employment Requirements-High Standards of Education Required-but We are the lowest Paid Municipal Staffers in the Nation-Please read that Again, said Maltese.

This is why I'm vigilante on Fairness in Wages Bill and/or No Fear Act. I have been out of Public Service for 7 years-and the Governor has not been a NYS Public Employee Supporter-that's why I have decided to seek office as a Member-because real changes for NYS Public Officers -Particularly Women NYS Public Officers need someone that isn't afraid, will stand up at a Committee Meeting in Albany for them-No FEAR-and open her Mouth for our People, said Maryann Maltese.

The Maltese Fairness of Wages Bill will correct past employment injustices for Women of the NYS Public Sector where it can be determined that a Female NYS Public Officer earned significantly less while Holding or being required by their NYS Job Descriptions' or performance of duties asked by the Member did no pay them Equally. The Governor has signed similar legislation for Women in the Private Sectors-which did not include Public Sector Female Employees-read that again.

Mediocre Employment Contracts for NYS Public Employees-particularly for Women is a problem and this bill will also include language for Staffers to be encouraged "No Fear" so they can be counseled on the employment contract prior to signing it with NYS to ensure they understand, said Maryann Maltese. This way, the Employee has received employment counseling prior to Signing giving them the opportunity to bargain with their employer-or submit a subsequent salary recommendations to be considered. NYS simply can not go around advising Private Sector to uphold NYS Labor Standards and Not offer similar services with the Largest AT-Will Employer-NYS. Good Employment Karma is about consideration between Employee and NYS as their Employer and if that language is not built into annual or new Employment Hires Contracts-then Inequality or UnFair Wage practices will continue-said Maryann Maltese. NYS needs to step out of the Dark Ages in offering Employment Contracts for NYS At Will Employees and provide Livable Wages.

I'm one of these Women impacted by mediocre Employment Contracts-where I am a Manager for NYS Public Sector, but was paid grossly unfairly with the Outdated NYS Employment Contracts-and we DEMAND retroactive Bill language to correct injustice, said Maltese. I'm not the only one who was negatively impacted by NYS Employment procedures-but going forward-Legislative State Action Laws-Like the Maltese Fairness in Wages will be the SPARK-the Catalyst representing NO-FEAR and for Real Equality in Wages going forward, said Maryann Maltese.

Maryann Maltese, has 18 Years of hands on-practical experiences within in the Legislature as a Statewide Regional Director-Planner, Chief of Staff for Various Legislators in the Senate and in the Assembly, Director of Legislative Services, Community Manager, Constituent Operations Manager and Volunteer within her Community-I know how to shake it up in Albany-that's what the 12th NYS Assembly District finally needs, said Maryann.
