Gas Stations in Deer Park, Amityville Robbed at Gunpoint a Half Hour Apart
The robberies occurred Sunday night, police say.

Police are investigating armed robberies that occurred at gas stations in Deer Park and Amityville on Sunday night.
The first robbery occurred at the Valero located at 355 Bay Shore Road in Deer Park around 7:16 p.m. Police say a man displayed a gun and demanded cash. He fled without any proceeds.
About 15 minutes later, a man and woman entered the Valero station located at 490 Broadway in Amityville. They “hung out” for 15 minutes and then the man approached the counter around 7:45 p.m., displayed a handgun and demanded proceeds. The pair fled the gas station with cash and cigarettes.

“Detectives are looking into the possibility that the two [robberies] may be related,” a police spokesperson told Patch Tuesday.
No injuries were reported in either robbery and police did not release descriptions of the robbers.
