HRHCare Assumes Leadership of Three Suffolk Health Centers
HRHCare assumes leadership of community health centers in Wyandanch, Shirley and Patchogue from the Suffolk County Department of Health.

HRHCare, a nonprofit, federally qualified health system offering a range of medical services to underserved communities throughout the Hudson Valley and Long Island, is pleased to welcome three new community health centers after assuming their leadership from the Suffolk County Department of Health. In September HRHCare assumed leadership of the Martin Luther King Jr. Health Center in Wyandanch, followed by the Marilyn Shellabarger Health Center in Shirley and the Health Center at Patchogue in November. HRHCare employees from both the Hudson Valley and Long Island were joined by several volunteers from Stony Brook University to assist in the transition process and help with patient registration at the health center sites.
HRHCare, which now operates seven facilities in Suffolk County, has quickly established its unique holistic approach to health care, accommodating the financial, linguistic and scheduling needs of patients. Accepting most forms of insurance carriers as well as Medicare and Medicaid, HRHCare also uses a sliding scale co-pay system based on income to make it more affordable for patients to receive necessary health care services. Reaching upwards of an estimated 23,000 new patients, HRHCare will introduce dental care at Wyandanch and Shirley and expanded behavioral health care services at all three sites in 2015.
