To kick off a poetry and songwriting unit, each student in Erica Fulgenzi’s class at Deer Park’s John Quincy Adams Primary School was given a mystery object to write a poem about using their senses.

“The students had a fun time writing creative poems about their mystery objects,” Fulgenzi said. “They used their poets’ eyes to look closely, describe their objects and tell what the objects reminded them of.”
