Lafrancis Hardiman Elementary School Celebrates 20th Anniversary
The building was named after Lafrancis Hardiman, a Purple Heart recipient and fallen service member who served in the Vietnam War.

Wyandanch Union Free School District’s administration and faculty recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Lafrancis Hardiman Elementary School.

The building was named after Lafrancis Hardiman, a Purple Heart recipient and fallen service member who served in the Vietnam War, to honor his bravery and memory. Hardiman was a graduate from Wyandanch Memorial High School and a resident of the Wyandanch community.
To mark the anniversary, district administrators and faculty gathered at the school to accept a proclamation from the Town of Babylon.

“Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Lafrancis Hardiman Elementary School is an opportunity to reflect on our district’s achievements and look forward to the future as we continue to provide our scholars quality educational opportunities that will inspire them to become exemplary individuals,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Gina Talbert.
The mission of the Lafrancis Hardiman Elementary School is to provide a positive, safe learning environment that empowers scholars to develop into world class leaders.
