LOCAL BUSINESS OWNER AND SON TO BECOME HOUSEHOLD NAME IN DISASTER RELIEF

Father and son celebrate business success together this Father's Day

Global warming is no joke, hoax or tiny problem.

This fact did not escape local home developer and renovation contractor Chris Schenk, who saw a need to bring a local Paul Davis Emergency Services franchise to Airmont. Schenk, who had been honing his career for 25 years while also earning a degree in civil engineering, had an advantage in the field. Now, Schenk, along with his wife Cynthia and son Chris Jr., operates and owns Paul Davis Restoration of Orange & Sussex Counties as well as Paul Davis Restoration of Rockland County.

Paul Davis Restoration is a one-stop disaster restoration and remodeling company, providing cleanup, restoration and remodeling services to residential and commercial properties due to water, fire, mold, storm and other disasters.

“We were looking for an increase in insurance restoration work and came to realize that Paul Davis was the best way to build in that particular business arena,” said Schenk. “We also like that the work is not seasonal or tied to the economy. Given the state of our environment, unfortunately our services will be needed for years to come,” added Schenk.

“Taken as a whole, the range of published evidence indicates that the net damage costs of climate change are likely to be significant and to increase over time,” states the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). “The extent of climate change effects on individual regions will vary over time and with the ability of different societal and environmental systems to mitigate or adapt to change,” says the IPCC.

On top of handling damage from a disaster, be it minor or major, Schenk also volunteers as a fire fighter and has 18 years of active membership in his local fire department. He also expects to be among the top 50 franchisees in the Paul Davis network within the next five years. “We will offer employment that will support 6-10 families out of our office as well as become a household name not only in work but in our community,” said Schenk.
