Local Organizations Acknowledged By Wyandanch BoE For Donations
Pinelawn Cemetery and Arboretum President Justine Locke were recognized for a donation of $10,000 to the district.

The Wyandanch Board of Education recognized two local organizations for donations to the school district at the board of education meeting on Sept. 16. Pinelawn Cemetery and Arboretum President Justine Locke were recognized for a donation of $10,000 to the district.

“We have been a partner with the Wyandanch School District for many years,” said Locke. “As a non-profit organization that prides itself on being good corporate citizens, we wanted to be sure that the district had resources available to continue to accomplish its mission in these difficult circumstances.”
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Gina Talbert expressed her sincerest thanks saying “The partnership between Pinelawn and the WUFSD is one that we are so incredibly thankful for. They recognized our unique needs during this time and this donation went directly to advancing technology for our students.”

The board also recognized Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Suffolk County Chapter for their donation of 250 backpacks and school supplies. “We are so proud of this community and want to continue helping to create a community of scholars and lifelong learners,” said Kathryn Simmons, chapter president.
“Jack and Jill of America, Inc. has been a steadfast friend and donor to our district,” said Dr. Gina Talbert. “With their continued support and donations, our district can continue to stimulate the growth and development of our students.”
