Long Island Man Guilty Of Sexually Abusing 7-Year-Old Girl

A jury deliberated for two hours before finding the 46-year-old guilty Monday.

RIVERHEAD, NY – A Suffolk County jury has found a 46-year-old man guilty of sexually abusing a child, according to the DA's office.

Luis Saravia, of Copiague, was convicted of first degree sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child after a two-day trial. The jury deliberated for two hours before convicting Saravia of both counts in the indictment.

Saravia sexually abused a 7-year-old girl in March of this year, prosecutors said.

Saravia will be certified as a sex offender and faces up to seven years in prison. Judge John Toomey continued Saravia’s $75,000 bail and Saravia remains incarcerated in the county jail.
