Man Found Lying In Road Pronounced Dead: PD

The man was declared dead after he was found lying in the road on Wednesday, police say.

COPIAGUE, NY - A man was prononced dead after he was found in the roadway in Copiague on Wednesday, according to Suffolk Police.

Officers responded to Great Neck Road near Oak Street after a passing motorist called 911 to report a man lying in the roadway at 1:10 a.m.

The man was transported via Copiague Rescue ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip where he was pronounced dead.

Major Case Unit detectives are investigating the incident.

An autopsy will determine the man’s cause of death.
