UPDATE: Police ID 19-Year-Old Struck, Killed by Car in North Babylon
The accident occurred early Tuesday, police say.

UPDATE 9 p.m.: Police have identified the victim as 19-year-old Joseph Lozada, of Babylon.
NORTH BABYLON, NY- A man was struck and killed by a car in North Babylon early Tuesday morning, Suffolk Police said.
According to police, 59-year-old John Farina was driving a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee south on Route 231 near Pell Avenue at 3:53 a.m. when his vehicle struck a man.

The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. Farina, of Cape Coral, Fla., was not injured. No criminal charges have been filed.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about this crash is asked to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
