May Moore Music Club Celebrates Christmas Season with 'Littlest Reindeer'

Second-Grade Music Club spreads some holiday cheer.

The 40 students in the Second-Grade Music Club at Deer Park’s May Moore Elementary School rang in the start of the holidays with their seasonally sweet production of John Higgins and John Jacobson’s “The Littlest Reindeer.”

In the musical, which centers on the theme of giving, the title character comes to the aid of Santa Claus, who is stuck fast in a narrow chimney. Costumed as elves and reindeer, the second-graders sang memorable songs such as “Getting Ready for Christmas” and “Up! Up! Up!” while warming the hearts of the appreciative audience, comprised of fellow students, parents and staff.

“The students worked extremely hard to bring a little bit of Santa’s workshop here to May Moore,” said music teacher Catherine Lubrano, the club’s adviser. “Our students learned that with some teamwork, even the littlest reindeer can save the day.”
