A Message of Kindness and Mercy from SSCM 7th Graders
Saints Cyril and Methodius School's Seventh Graders deliver a message of Kindness and Mercy.
Seventh graders at Saints Cyril and Methodius School in Deer Park worked hard preparing for and running their School Mass this past week, the message of which was “The Lord is Kind and Merciful”. Mass Celebrant Father Grace and Sister Susan Snyder, the school’s Principal, echoed the message of the Gospel and readings of the Mass. They challenged the student body to think about this message of kindness and mercy and to think through how they could return to their classrooms, homes and family lives and find ways bring the Gospel message into their daily lives.
Students at SSCM are accustomed to this type of daily message and daily challenge, as faith and charity are intertwined into their learning and into the types of extra-curricular activities they have the opportunity to participate in on a daily basis.
SSCM’s Student Government are busy organizing a myriad of ways in which SSCM Students can offer their service to the surrounding community and make the world around them a better place — collecting necessities for Hurricane Relief, organizing a Spirit & Friendship Day, and a Thanksgiving collection for SSCM’s Parish Outreach Program just to name a few. Many thanks to Mrs. Keeler and all of the students who gave of their time and talent to prepare for this beautiful Mass.
