As it's the holiday that recognizes a Civil Rights Leader; Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, there are strides to recognize. The Historical aspects of MLK's speech was directed to remind society that only White Men have inherent equality. Black men were etching out their need of acceptance and once again-Women put others and their families a head of the universal need of equality for Women. A message he and his supporters brought peacefully to the great lawn in 1963-" I Have A Dream". Women were not included in these remarks.

Going forward-in State Legislatures, including New York State Legislature; they have not finalized the Words of MLK with it's intent to provide Women with Equality as an entire class of people. Women's Rights are not in State Code which permits "states" the ability for discrimination to take roots much more quickly in multiple aspects of their lives. It's important today; to celebrate accomplishments and to remember that Civil Rights breathe and amendments or changes or add on's are added in. Where are women on this platform? Federally-Women have Equality but the Federal Government has left the education, as well as enforcement of such Civil Rights to each of the State's to decide if that State will adhere. In NYS-we do not have Women's Equality in State Code; and without the roots of Equality planted in State Statute-the rest of the Strides Women have achieved independently doesn't resonate in Law.

Individual achievements and Law Cases won by Women or those that identify as women are separate achievements; but case law is not Statutory Law and doesn't always contribute to a State being held accountable for their discriminatory actions if those states do not take the rendered decisions and echo them. Leaving those achievements on the sidelines-and not the roots for Women as a class-pursuing the matter for the greater good. If NYS doesn't have Equality for Women in State Code-then has NYS discriminated against Women?

Ignorance lies. under the surface by NYS not taking the Lead itself in ensuring that Women have Equality in State Code. Why-do we ask a State that often describes itself as Progressive in Women's Issues; because NYS-as a Discriminatory Employer (the 3 Branches) have not-cleared up Employment Contracts which discriminated against Women Staff Members. Female Members/Legislators are their own Bosses within their Districts under umbrella of the State Flag- they are our Go to Person to fix something-if they are listening to their Peer Constituents or Fellow Public Servant in State Legislative Service. Women's Employment Contracts within the State Legislature of New York State must meet Equality Standards-set forth by NYS passing Budgets of 2014-2017-which clears up injustice or inequality-and then is the source of New Civil Rights provided to Women. Women in Public Service within the Legislature; we are the Women carrying Civil Rights Torch now-that's the message Modern Day Civil Rights Leaders must carry. Civil Rights evolve-and this year-more than ever; the need for Women to be Equals in State Law is necessary. Old outdated beliefs that Women are emotionally unprepared to manage themselves within the Professions must be eliminated by State Law; so that inherent Rights of Women take roots in NYS. In doing so-then Women are in control of their lives and destiny; as well as the results of their decisions to accept or not accept Employment Contracts.

Public Officers-Legislative or Centralized Staff who sign employment contracts that are discriminatory from the past-requires additional legislative action by NYS Legislature-which employment matters are not subjective to Moratorium Rules of law-but must be introduced within 30 days of notice. NYS as an Employer is never exempted from responding to employment matters-is any Employer? Maryann Maltese provided evidence to her Employer-NYS Legislature over 8 months ago-as an Employer-the Legislature Must respond with corrective earnings legislation and/or the actuary findings of why or why not-which in present day-they have not. That's a violation of Employment Laws of NYS and my Protections under the State Civil Service Code as I'm a tenured employed of NYS-in good standing.

As you celebrate today within your own reasons for finding the teachings of MLK; remind your Leaders-State Elected's within the NYS Senate and NYS Assembly-that Women as an Entire Class demand-or require our Civil Rights to be implemented/enacted/provided (pick an adjective) immediately. The enactment of Maryann Maltese Corrective Earnings Law based on the State Budget Passages of 2014-2017-is the catalyst to spark required "issuance of corrective earnings" due to Maryann's State Service within the Legislature. That acknowledgement is the foundation for Equality take roots for Women in the private sectors as well-education for women and further proactive steps within State Regulatory agencies will be required-and not "at Will" any longer. Ask your State Legislator's; "where do you stand on the Maltese Legislation?" Stare the answer with me if you care too.
