Nov. 10, 2020
Deer Park High School recently honored senior Nicholas DeNoyior as Student of the Month for September. While this school year has proven challenging for everyone, DeNoyior has dealt with his own adversity and met those challenges head on. He is taking difficult AP courses and maintaining a 90 average, while working two jobs, one at a baseball facility and another at a golf course. He is also visiting colleges and played in a fall baseball league while taking care of all of his academic responsibilities.

“Nick is an all-around great kid,” said teacher Jill Perry-Eising, who nominated him for the award. “As a student, Nick is everything you could hope for as a teacher – he’s a gentleman who is bright, conscientious, inquisitive, polite, respectful and on top of his responsibilities. As a young man, Nick is mature beyond his years. He’s very knowledgeable on current affairs and is delightful to have a conversation with. Nick’s ability to meet challenges head on makes him a role model for our students here at the high school. I’ve always known what a great kid Nick is, but through his perseverance, he has really demonstrated his character. He is a terrific asset to our student body.”
