North Babylon School District students were recognized for their artwork at an awards ceremony held at Babylon Town Hall.
The ceremony celebrated students’ aptitude in the arts, and was based on their work in the district’s annual Art Show. The ceremony was attended by approximately 300 people, featured elected officials and included judges from the Long Island Children’s Museum, Long Island Museum of American Art and Nassau County Museum of Art. A 25-piece orchestra, comprising students from Belmont, Woods Road and Parliament Place elementary schools, and led by teacher Thomas Schultheis, also performed at the ceremony. More than 125 ribbons were earned by students.
The Art Show is on display at Babylon Town Hall until May 14.
