North Babylon Bar Shut Down After Inspection: Police

Four men at the bar, including the bartender, were arrested during the inspection for drug possession, police say.

NORTH BABYLON, NY - Four men were arrested for drug possession after an inspection at a North Babylon bar on Friday night, according to Suffolk County Police.

In response to recent community complaints, officers conducted a State Liquor Authority Inspection at Nite Cap Bar on 765 Deer Park Avenue in North Babylon at 11:20 p.m., police said.

According to police, the following individuals were arrested:

  • The bartender, Stephen Corbin, 61, of North Babylon, was arrested for seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and five counts of disorderly premise.
  • James Cardello, 53, of West Babylon, was arrested for seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
  • Ronald Mowris, 49, of Lake Grove, was arrested for seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
  • Thomas Sattler, 52, of Islip, was arrested for seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

In addition, five Town of Babylon code violations were issued to the bar. The establishment was condemned and closed by the Town of Babylon.

The four men are scheduled for arraignment on March 1, 2019 at First District Court in Central Islip.
