North Babylon Boy Scout Troop 399

Eagle Scout Project Spreads Kindness at Home and Abroad

On January 12, 2018, Andrew Groh, a Life Scout from Troop 399, North Babylon completed his Eagle project which was named "Kindness Rocks". To raise funds for the supplies needed for this project, he collected over 2400 bottles. For this project the community came together at the North Babylon library to paint rocks with a positive message. Once the rocks were painted, they were incorporated into a temporary art display at the library. Some attendees decided to spread kindness overseas and send their painted rocks to a growing rock garden in Kuwait started by an Army lieutenant. Admission to this event was a donation to the North Babylon Food Pantry and nearly 200 pounds of food and $52 in donated money was the result of the generosity of the North Babylon community.
