The Court of Honor signifies a Boy Scout’s promotion to Eagle Scout. Becoming an Eagle Scout is achieved through hard work, with the recipient required to have earned at least 21 merit badges, demonstrate leadership and have a positive impact on society. Scouts are required to complete a project that benefits their community before ascending into the ranks of Eagle Scout.
David’s project was to refurbish the children’s garden on the property of Marion G. Vedder school as well as put solar lights in the alley outside the cafeteria. The garden was built in memoriam of 2 members of the MGV family that passed away, a fifth grader who lost her battle to cancer and a beloved security guard. The solar lights were greatly appreciated as many community groups use the alley at night to get into the cafeteria for meetings.
